Dream Girl is an upcoming Bollywood rom-com drama film starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Barucha, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and co-produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under Balaji Motion Pictures’ banner. The rest of the cast comprises of Annu Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Vijay Raaz, Nidhi Bisht, Rajesh Sharma and many more with a special appearance by Ritesh Deshmukh for the song “Dhagala Lagali”.
Set against the backdrop of Mathura, Dream Girl is a string of errors that stir the comedy in the story. Local boy Lokesh Bisht (Ayushmann Khurrana), acts in drama series like Ramayan and Mahabharta but surprisingly not as a male lead but a female one. His voice modulation skills are so fine that one day he ends up talking to people pretending to be Pooja, a late night call girl. Pooja conjures a string of admirers that have apparently fallen in love with the voice. The story becomes interesting when Lokesh ends up chasing the girl of his dreams, Dolly Shinde aka Nushrat Barucha. The film is a rollecoster of feelings, emotions, comedy and drama.
The portrayal of the character of Pooja by Ayushmann has been the talk of the time, be it his voice modulation or the mannerism of a girl that he displays in the entire movie that surely promised a laughter riot in the theatres. The actor likes to experiment with the choice of his roles and always has the audience stunned by his performance. The quirky comedy film is not a love story but the makers have claimed that this is their first film where they haven’t used a single below-the-belt dialogue making it a complete family entertainer.
The songs in Dream Girl are catchy and with the festivities around the corner, provide attractive sound tracks to tap your feet on, like “Radhe Radhe” and their own take “Dhagala Lagali”. Others touch your heart strings with the songs “Ik Mulaqat” and “Dil Ka Telephone”. With a Rotten Tomatoes score of 89% and an IMDb rating of 4/5, the movie is sure to bring laughter to your door step this weekend. The movie Dream Girl had satisfactory success at the box office on day 1 and day 2. The Dream Girl movie collected 10.05 crores on the first-day release and 16.42 crores on the second-day release.
