Saaho is the most awaited action thriller of 2019, written and directed by Sujeeth and produced by UV creations and T-Series. The film has been simultaneously shot and is being released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. This ₹350 crore budget movie marks the debut of Prabhas in Hindi and Shraddha Kapoor in South Indian Cinema, shot with IMAX cameras. With that, this movie has become the most expensive film in India. The cast includes the lead Prabhas as Ashok and Shraddha Kapoor as Amitha Nair with other significant cast members like Jackie Shroff as Roy, Neil Nitin Mukesh as Jai, Chunky Pandey as Devraj, Mandira Bedi as Kalki, Mahesh Manjrekar as Prince, Tinnu Anand as Prithvi Raj and so many more with a special appearance from Jacqueline Fernandez for the song Bad Boy.
The story is about a battle for power, where unrelated and unconnected events occur around the world to reveal a highly-knit mind game. In the midst of all of chaos enters Ashok (Prabhas), who uses an arsenal of weapons to fight with a gang of thugs stealing the huge amount of ₹2000 crores. The story reels the audience into the games played by the characters keeping the true nature of the people involved hidden. Plot thickens with every passing minute in the film, entertaining the viewers and also challenging their perception of who is the hunter and who is being hunted.
The songs are composed by Tanishk Bagchi, Guru Randhawa, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Badshah alongwith the score from Ghibran. The movie is incomplete without the catchy songs and dance numbers like Psycho Saiyaan, Bad Boy, Enni Soni and Baby Won’t You Tell Me. These songs have also been made in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Saaho has also been made into a mobile game by Pixalot Labs based in Hyderabad and was released on 30th August 2019.
According to critics, the movie sold the idea of suspense and has the audience on the edge of their seats throughout the movie. Although, a spoiler came before the movie was released stating that Prabhas is the antagonist and the robber, but the masterstroke will only be revealed when you watch the movie. With a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 95% and IMDb score of 8.5/10, Saaho has bagged ₹90 crores on day 1 and ₹89 crores on day 2 of its release.
